- The successful candidate will assist experienced technicians with general workshop requirements, the preparation and rebuilding of equipment, and related practical tasks while developing their technical skills and knowledge within a hands-on workshop environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with general workshop requirements.
- Assist with the preparation, rebuilding and fitting of mechanical components and equipment.
- Carry out practical workshop tasks as instructed.
- Assist with the handling, preparation and fitting of components as required.
- Follow instructions and established workshop procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Develop technical and practical knowledge through hands-on workshop experience.
- Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes.
- Work effectively as part of the workshop team.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a workshop environment, preferably for at least two years.
- Technically minded with a practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Grade 12 or equivalent preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read, understand and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Reliable and responsible approach to work.
- Contactable references from previous employment.
- Residing in or around Ballito or the surrounding North Coast area, particularly for candidates without their own transport.
Advantageous
- Previous experience in a mechanical or technical workshop.
- Experience in an automotive workshop, panel shop, auto electrical environment or similar.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own reliable transport.
