Duties & Responsibilities
About the Position
We are looking for a Junior Technical Administrator / Data Capturer to join our Workshop team.
This is a junior, hands-on administrative support role requiring basic technical understanding, good computer skills and strong attention to detail.
The successful candidate will work closely with the QC Inspector, who will perform inspections, measurements and checks. The Administrator will accurately capture the inspection data, prepare the required records and ensure that documentation and photographs are correctly saved against the relevant Job Number.
The role will also include monitoring the Maintenance and HSE systems for upcoming inspections, servicing and certification requirements for equipment such as overhead cranes, lifting equipment, forklifts and compressors, and communicating upcoming or overdue requirements to the Workshop Foreman.
Key Duties
- Capture inspection and measurement data accurately.
- Prepare and maintain Quality records and reports.
- Compile Quality Data Books / Fabrication Data Books.
- File and maintain Material Certificates, NDT Reports, Test Certificates and supplier documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems.
- Monitor outstanding Quality documentation and follow up where required.
- Monitor maintenance, inspection and certification due dates.
- Communicate upcoming and overdue requirements to the Workshop Foreman.
- Assist with audit preparation and general Quality administration.
- Perform general administrative duties relating to the Workshop, Quality, Maintenance and SHE functions.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum 2 years' administrative experience .
- Good computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel .
- Strong data capturing and administration skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Basic technical understanding.
- Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing or workshop environment will be advantageous.
- Experience in Quality Administration or Document Control will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, OHSA / HSE requirements or maintenance systems will be advantageous.
