We are looking for a Junior Tax & Bookkeeping Accountant to join a professional accounting team. The successful candidate will assist the Accountant / Senior Tax Consultant with day-to-day bookkeeping, tax administration, client documentation and reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is currently studying towards an Accounting or Tax qualification and wants to build practical experience within an accounting environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Accountant / Senior Tax Consultant with day-to-day bookkeeping on Sage Pastel .
Capture and process bank statements.
Perform bank reconciliations.
Assist with income statements and VAT reports.
Process monthly journals as required.
Keep client files and documentation accurate and up to date.
Compile management reports for review and sign-off by the Accountant / Senior Tax Consultant.
Communicate outstanding client documentation and information requirements.
Maintain daily, progress and other relevant reports.
Provide general administrative support as required.
Assist in delivering professional and effective bookkeeping and tax services to clients.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Currently studying towards a relevant Accounting or Tax qualification, Degree or Higher Diploma .
1–2 years' relevant experience in tax, accounting and/or bookkeeping.
Proficient in Sage Pastel – essential.
Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team.
Professional communication skills.
Willingness to learn and develop within the accounting and tax environment.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a driven and detail-oriented junior accounting professional who is eager to develop their technical skills and gain further exposure to bookkeeping and taxation.
You should be comfortable working with figures, have good Pastel knowledge, take pride in accurate work and be willing to support the Accountant / Senior Tax Consultant across a range of client requirements.
