JCB Gearvest is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the planning, design, and oversight of structural projects, ensuring safety and compliance.
Based in Pretoria, the role requires extensive travel, including long-distance trips to various project sites and periods of stayover.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Making calculations about pressures, loads and stresses
- Preparing reports, designs and drawings
- Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness
- Collaborate with architects, contractors and other professionals to develop structural designs
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional registration with relevant bodies like the Engineering Council of South Africa
- Proficiency in design software e.g. AutoCAD
- Strong mathematical analysis
- Knowledge of building regulations
- 2 - 4 years' experience
