- Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Sandton.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Building or Quantity Surveying.
- Approximately 3–4 years' relevant working experience in quantity surveying.
- Experience within a professional quantity surveying firm or consulting environment will be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of construction cost management and quantity surveying principles.
- Knowledge of bills of quantities, cost estimates, tender documentation and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes and project cost control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and relevant quantity surveying software.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a professional team and meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities.
- Support the preparation and evaluation of tender documentation.
- Assist with measuring and quantifying construction work.
- Obtain, assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Assist with cost monitoring, financial reporting and project cost control.
- Support the preparation and assessment of interim payment valuations.
- Assist with the assessment of variations and final accounts.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and cost records.
- Provide quantity surveying support throughout the various stages of construction projects.
