• Completed BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying mandatory. • Relevant exposure to the building construction industry will be advantageous. • Understanding of measurement, bills of quantities, estimating and construction costs. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of quantity surveying software will be advantageous. • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills. • Good communication skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work in Sandton and attend project sites as required. Key Responsibilities
• Assist with preparing estimates, budgets and bills of quantities. • Take off quantities from drawings and verify measurements on site. • Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations. • Support procurement and subcontractor appointment processes. • Assist with preparing payment claims and assessing subcontractor payment applications. • Record and measure variations and assist with associated pricing. • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets. • Assist with monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and final accounts. • Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation. • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. • Attend site inspections and progress meetings as required.
