Desired experience & qualifications
- Qualified Optometrist with relevant registration.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care abilities.
- Professional, ethical, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities will include
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye health.
- Diagnose and manage refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Prescribe and fit spectacles and contact lenses.
- Detect, monitor, and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
- Perform diagnostic tests using specialised ophthalmic equipment.
- Develop appropriate treatment and management plans based on clinical findings.
- Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and preventative measures.
- Prescribe therapeutic medication where permitted.
- Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Conduct follow-up consultations and monitor patient progress.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Advise patients on the care and maintenance of spectacles and contact lenses.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Keep up to date with industry developments and best practices through continuous professional development.
