- A leading specialized engineering firm delivering advanced industrial weighing systems, batch plant design, material handling, and process control integration across the food, mining, chemical, pulp & paper, tobacco, and pharmaceutical sectors, is seeking a Junior Mechanical Draughtsman with experience in industrial weighing systems, batching systems, and material handling to join their technical team.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design: Create 2D/3D designs for weighing hoppers, feeders, silos, and loadcell integration.
- Layouts & Systems: Develop batch plant layouts and support retrofit projects and on-site mechanical systems.
- Documentation & BOMs: Generate accurate engineering drawings, Bill of Materials BOMs, apply GD&T standards, and maintain drawing control.
- Technical Collaboration: Partner with engineers, instrumentation specialists, and project teams to execute project briefs.
- Site Support: Conduct site measurements, perform troubleshooting, and assist with project execution.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting NQF 5/6.
- ECSA registration or eligibility for registration as a Draughtsperson/Technician is advantageous.
- 2–3 years of practical draughting experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
- Core technical knowledge of loadcells, silos, hoppers, and batch plants.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, structural design, and GD&T.
- Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word.
