Minimum requirements
- An honours NQF level 8 in Biochemistry.
- A minimum of one 1 year' lecturing experience.
RECOMMENDATION / ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Accreditation with the South African Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology SASBMB.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of general biochemistry and molecular biology.
- Ability to lecture molecular biology, conduct biochemistry practicals on a tertiary level with a specific inclination towards teaching molecular biology Biochemistry techniques.
- Proven competency in basic molecular and techniques such as DNA isolation, tissue culture, microscopy and gel Electrophoresis.
- Excellent computer skills for teaching and learning, and administration.
- Track record of student mentoring and community engagements projects.
- Good communication skills verbal and written.
- Ability to function as part of the team and also in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
