Junior Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer

An opportunity is available for a motivated Junior Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer to join a growing development team in Milnerton.

This role is ideal for a junior developer or recent graduate with a solid foundation in PHP and web development who wants to build practical experience across both front-end and back-end development.

The successful candidate will work alongside more experienced developers and gain exposure to PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, MySQL, REST APIs, Git and cloud-based technologies while contributing to live applications and ongoing development projects. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, maintenance and improvement of web applications.

• Develop and maintain features using PHP and Laravel .

• Assist with front-end development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript .

• Work with MySQL databases , including queries, updates and troubleshooting.

• Assist with REST APIs and third-party integrations .

• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software issues.

• Write clean, structured and maintainable code.

• Participate in software testing and quality assurance.

• Assist with improving application performance and functionality.

• Use Git for version control and collaborate on shared codebases.

• Participate in Agile development meetings and planning sessions.

• Document code, processes and technical solutions.

• Continuously develop technical skills and Laravel best practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Some practical experience with PHP and Laravel , gained through employment, internship, freelance work or personal projects.

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript .

• Basic to intermediate understanding of MySQL and relational databases .

• Understanding of RESTful APIs .

• Familiarity with Git / version control .

• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles .

• Good problem-solving and debugging ability.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to learn quickly and take guidance from senior developers.

• Able to work independently and within a development team.

• Genuine interest in building a career in software development.

• Must be willing to work UK working hours .

• Role is fully office-based in Milnerton .

Qualifications

A qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field would be advantageous.
