The Junior Inventory Controller / Inventory Clerk will be responsible for tracking, recording, and managing stock levels within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must have prior experience in manufacturing inventory control and working knowledge of the Evolution accounting system.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, count, and verify incoming stock against delivery notes and invoices.
- Maintain accurate stock records on Evolution.
- Record inventory movements accurately in the inventory system.
- Assist with stock takes and cycle counts.
- Ensure correct storage, labelling, and organisation of inventory.
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse and operations teams.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies/variances.
- Issue stock to departments as required and maintain records.
- Generate inventory reports as required by management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an inventory control role within the manufacturing industry (non-negotiable).
- Experience working on the Evolution accounting system (non-negotiable).
- Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of stock control procedures and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Grade 12 (relevant tertiary qualification advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail.
- High level of accuracy.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a production environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
