Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with HVAC installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with servicing and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems and plantrooms .
- Assist with work on chillers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, extract and ventilation systems .
- Assist with inspection and maintenance of plantroom equipment and associated components.
- Assist with checking belts, filters, coils, fans, pumps, valves and motors.
- Assist with basic HVAC fault-finding and system diagnostics.
- Assist with copper piping, drainage, insulation, ducting and equipment installation.
- Assist with basic electrical and control-system checks related to HVAC equipment.
- Carry out cleaning and general preventative maintenance.
- Complete job cards and record work and materials used.
- Identify faults and report any equipment requiring repair or replacement.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe plantroom and work area.
- Work under the direction of senior technicians and within their level of training and competence.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
- HVAC qualification or relevant technical training preferred.
- Previous HVAC experience or practical exposure advantageous.
- Basic understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Knowledge or exposure to commercial HVAC systems and plantrooms advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in plantroom environments.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently when required and as part of a team.
Package & Remuneration
R15 000 per month Based on experience
