Junior Farm Manager Citrus

A well-established company involved in growing, packing, exporting, importing, and distributing fresh citrus, with operations in South Africa, Argentina, and Spain, is seeking a Junior Farm Manager to be responsible for assisting with the efficient management of citrus orchards, including crop production, irrigation, labour, harvesting, maintenance, compliance, and operational planning. Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum requirements for the role

• Must have a degree in Agronomy or an equivalent Agricultural qualification

• Exposure to citrus production and leading general farm workers is advantageous

• Very high levels of commitment, proactivity, and hands-on attitude

The successful candidate will be responsible for

• Assisting with the day-to-day management and supervision of citrus orchards and farm operations.

• Monitoring irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease control programmes.

• Supervising farm labour and contractors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to required standards.

• Assisting with pruning, planting, harvesting and general orchard maintenance.

• Monitoring crop development, yields and fruit quality.

• Maintaining accurate records of production, inputs, labour and equipment.

• Assisting with planning and implementing seasonal farming activities.

• Ensuring compliance with farm safety, quality and environmental standards.

• Assisting with machinery, equipment and infrastructure maintenance.

• Supporting the Farm Manager with budgeting, procurement and operational planning.
