Junior Digital Designers | Maitland, Cape Town (Office-based)

Introduction

Are you a creative, digitally savvy designer ready to kick-start or grow your career in a dynamic marketing environment?

Our client is looking for two Junior Digital Designers to join their Marketing team in Maitland, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or junior designer who enjoys bringing ideas to life across digital, print, retail and marketing platforms.

You’ll work closely with an experienced creative and marketing team, producing high-quality content that drives customer engagement and supports marketing campaigns, sales initiatives, retail activities and new product launches.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and produce creative artwork for digital, print, retail and internal communication platforms.

• Create engaging content for social media, websites, email campaigns, digital advertising and e-commerce platforms.

• Develop marketing collateral including brochures, catalogues, flyers, point-of-sale material, presentations, banners and promotional campaigns.

• Support new product launches by creating packaging artwork, promotional material and digital campaign assets.

• Edit and retouch product photography and marketing images.

• Assist with basic video editing, animation and motion graphics for digital campaigns.

• Resize and adapt artwork for different platforms, formats and communication channels.

• Write and edit engaging marketing copy and campaign messaging when required.

• Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Development and other internal stakeholders to interpret briefs and deliver creative solutions.

• Maintain an organised library of digital assets, templates and artwork.

• Manage multiple creative projects while consistently meeting deadlines.

• Stay up to date with digital design trends, AI design tools and emerging marketing technologies.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification

A Diploma or Degree in one of the following or a related field

• Graphic Design

• Digital Design

• Visual Communication

• Multimedia Design

• Marketing

Experience

• Graduate applicants are welcome to apply.

• Alternatively, 1–2 years’ experience in a Graphic Design, Digital Design or Marketing environment.

• Previous exposure to FMCG, Retail or Food Manufacturing will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

You should have advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly:

• Adobe Photoshop

• Adobe Illustrator

• Adobe InDesign

Additional skills that will strengthen your application include

• Basic Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects

• Canva

• Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office

• Understanding of digital marketing and social media content creation

• Knowledge of preparing artwork for commercial print production
