Start free — we apply for you →About the RoleA leading mining equipment OEM is looking for a Junior Design Engineer for its Alrode engineering hub. You’ll start in 3D CAD draughting and grow into design, simulation and site work, with occasional visits to open-cast mines.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate CAD drawings, manage PLM models and maintain Bills of MaterialGenerate concepts, design and reverse engineer productsRun FEA (plus DEM/MBD as needed) and interpret results for product optimisationScan components on site (FARO laser scanning) and process point-cloud dataJoin sales on site visits as a technical advisor and help with presentations and simulation videosSupport commissioning, troubleshooting and failure inspectionsContribute to design reviews, ISO implementation and technical reports
Requirements
• B.Eng in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering • 0–3 years’ experience (mining or design background is an advantage) • Familiarity with CAD, with exposure to FEA/CAE a plus • Able to read and interpret technical drawings • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Team player, self-motivated and able to work independently • Physically able to perform site duties Please note that if you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of application that it has been unsuccessful.
