An opportunity is available for a Junior Business Analyst to join an IT solutions team within the financial services environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to analyse business needs, document requirements, and translate business requirements into practical IT solutions. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and an interest in improving business processes through technology.
Duties & Responsibilities
Business Requirements Analysis
Engage with business stakeholders and vendors to identify business needs, analyse processes, and document requirements for new and existing initiatives.
Gather and document business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
Translate business needs into clear, concise technical specifications for development teams.
Business Process Analysis and Modelling
Map existing business processes and collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
Develop visual representations of business processes using tools such as Microsoft Visio or Draw.io.
Assist in defining improved processes and proposed solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to support the delivery of IT solutions.
Testing and Project Support
Assist with the development of test plans and validate that implemented solutions meet defined business requirements.
Contribute to project planning, risk management, and other project-related activities.
Support the delivery of complex projects using relevant project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in business analysis, working with IT platforms, or a related IT environment.
A recognised Business Analysis certification .
Understanding of business analysis methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
Knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Previous experience in the financial services sector will be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and project requirements.
Customer-service-oriented and solution-focused approach.
