About the Position
We are a well-known and respected catering equipment supplier. We have an exciting, urgent vacancy for an enthusiastic, motivated, and well-presented Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. If you are eager to learn and ready to develop your accounting career, this role offers hands-on experience under direct mentorship. You will support our daily bookkeeping and accounting functions while becoming fully operational in Sage Pastel.
Roles & Responsibilities
Capturing daily bank transactions.
Assisting with bank reconciliations.
Processing basic customer and supplier invoicing.
Allocating payments against accounts.
Assisting with customer and supplier reconciliation queries.
Helping process debit and credit returns.
Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register.
Sorting, filing, and reviewing expense receipts.
Collecting payroll data, attendance records, and commission sheets.
Preparing payment files for bank releases.
Loading simple journal entries into the system.
Directing basic client and supplier queries appropriately.
Filing and scanning general ledger documents.
Supporting the team with monthly management account preparation.
Compiling documentation for monthly tax calculations.
Assisting with general office administration tasks.
To succeed in the role you will need
A completed Accounting Diploma or Certificate.
Direct experience with Sage Pastel software.
Strong basic accounting principles.
Highly organised approach to paperwork.
Desired Skills
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Honest, responsible, and eager to learn.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Solid numerical and data capture skills.
Ability to work well under supervision.
Driver's license and own car.
Desired Experience
• 1–2 years of practical bookkeeping or data capturing experience. • Basic exposure to payroll processing is a plus.
