This opportunity is particularly suited to a recently qualified or early-career Millwright who wants to build strong hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. Previous manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience will be advantageous; however, we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability, initiative and a willingness to learn.

The role is electromechanical and requires the successful candidate to work across both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Performing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery, equipment and associated systems.
  • Conducting electrical and mechanical fault-finding, diagnosing equipment failures and carrying out appropriate repairs.
  • Performing electrical work on motors, control circuits, electrical panels, drives and associated production equipment within the scope of competence and authorisation.
  • Wiring, testing, repairing and assisting with the commissioning of electrical circuits and components.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, assembling and aligning mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Supporting the installation, relocation, alignment and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Conducting fault-finding and basic diagnostics on PLCs, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), instrumentation and automated/control systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals and technical specifications.
  • Inspecting equipment to identify wear, defects, abnormal conditions and potential failures before they result in breakdowns.
  • Supporting root-cause analysis of recurring breakdowns and contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Testing safety devices, interlocks and equipment following maintenance or repairs before returning equipment to service.
  • Applying the required isolation, lock-out and SHE procedures when performing maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, breakdowns, repairs, inspections and equipment history.
  • Supporting the effective management and availability of critical maintenance spares and tools.
  • Providing technical support to Operations and working collaboratively with production teams to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Supporting OEMs, contractors and other technical service providers where required.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring tools, equipment and work areas are kept safe and orderly.
  • Performing other reasonable technical and maintenance duties within the scope of the role and the incumbent's demonstrated competence.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Relevant N3 qualification or equivalent recognised technical qualification.

  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems, motors and control circuits.
  • Knowledge of safe isolation, lock-out and general occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and provide breakdown support when operationally required.

ADVANTAGEOUS

  • Previous practical experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, production or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Post-trade experience as a Millwright or Artisan.
  • Exposure to PLCs, VSDs, instrumentation and industrial automation/control systems.
  • Experience with planned and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment installation and commissioning.
