Duties & Responsibilities

1. SALES ASSISTANTS

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and provide excellent, personalised customer service.

• Assist customers with product enquiries, recommendations, and purchases.

• Develop product knowledge, particularly regarding Bibles, Christian literature, gifts, and related products.

• Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and product presentation.

• Assist with unpacking, pricing, replenishing, and organising stock.

• Process sales transactions accurately and responsibly.

• Contribute towards achieving sales targets and store performance objectives.

• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

• Build positive relationships with customers and fellow team members.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• Previous retail or customer service experience will be an advantage.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A strong customer-service orientation and a positive attitude.

• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.

• The ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• A willingness to learn, take initiative, and work effectively within a team.

• An interest in books, Christian literature, and inspirational products will be an advantage.

2. SUPERVISORS

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the daily running of the store.

• Lead, motivate, and guide the sales team to deliver excellent customer service.

• Assist with allocating daily duties and monitoring the completion of tasks.

• Monitor sales performance and encourage the team to achieve sales targets.

• Ensure that merchandising, housekeeping, and stock presentation standards are maintained.

• Assist with stock control, stocktaking, receiving, and replenishment.

• Ensure that point-of-sale procedures and cash-handling standards are followed.

• Assist with opening and closing procedures, where required.

• Support the training and development of team members.

• Address customer queries professionally and escalate concerns when necessary.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• Previous retail experience, supervisory or team-leadership experience will be a strong advantage.

• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to lead by example and hold team members accountable.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• A sales-driven mindset with a passion for customer service.

• The ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• An interest in Christian literature and inspirational products will be an advantage.
