SASSO Consulting is recruiting 5 experienced Application and Data Security Specialists for an enterprise IT environment based in Centurion, Gauteng.
The successful candidates will be responsible for securing enterprise applications, protecting sensitive data, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective application and data security controls.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct application security assessments and vulnerability testing.
Identify, investigate and remediate application security risks.
Perform SAST, DAST and software composition analysis (SCA).
Implement security controls for web applications, APIs and databases.
Support secure software development (SSDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
Implement encryption, data masking and access control measures.
Assess authentication, authorisation and application security configurations.
Collaborate with development and cybersecurity teams on remediation.
Support data protection, compliance and security incident investigations.
Maintain security assessment reports and technical documentation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant IT, Computer Science or Cybersecurity diploma or degree.
Minimum 3–5 years' relevant application or data security experience.
Proven hands-on experience in application vulnerability assessments and remediation.
Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding principles.
Experience with SAST, DAST, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Checkmarx, Fortify or similar tools.
Understanding of encryption, API security, authentication and access management.
Experience with Azure, AWS or enterprise cloud security environments.
Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST and POPIA.
Experience with DevSecOps and secure CI/CD pipelines advantageous.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CASE, GWAPT or Security+ advantageous.
Package & Remuneration
Salary: Market-related, dependent on experience and qualifications.
