- iqx the Technology Division of iqbusiness is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join a dynamic technology team responsible for building and enhancing mission-critical banking platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, high-performance systems that power digital banking experiences for millions of customers. The role is based in Cape-town, 4 days at the office in Stellenbosch.
- As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient backend solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java backend development.
Extensive experience with
- Java 11/17+
- Spring Boot
- Spring Framework
- RESTful APIs
- Microservices Architecture
- SQL Databases PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server
- Git
- Maven/Gradle
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
Advantageous skills
- Banking or Financial Services industry experience.
- Cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Apache Kafka or other messaging technologies.
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements within banking environments.
