IT Technician (Human Capital Management)

Job Description

• Our client, an IT services and solutions provider situated in Paarl, is seeking the services of an analytical, process-driven individual to form part of their team.
• The successful candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Administer network and data security, including Active Directory, Group Policy, firewalls, antivirus protection, VoIP, and email security.
• Perform data backups to ensure all client data is securely stored and recoverable.
• Install and implement network system upgrades and improvements.
• Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install and maintain network cabling.
• Monitor servers, LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Wi-Fi systems to ensure optimal performance and coverage.
• Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software, hardware, and system features.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
• Respond to IT-related issues involving hardware, software, networking, and system maintenance.
• Provide helpdesk and technical support via phone, remote access, or on-site visits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system errors.
• Set up equipment for new users and employees.
• Consult with vendors and clients to integrate and update company technology.
• Ensure optimal performance and utilization of all technology resources.
• Maintain and manage the asset register.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Approximately 2 years' experience in a similar IT support position.
• A+, N+, and MCSE certifications will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of IT networks, Microsoft products, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of UniFi products, analogue and IP CCTV systems will be advantageous.
• Experience troubleshooting issues and installing third-party applications.
• Valid driver's licence.
