To provide on-site first-line IT support to end users by assisting with service desk queries, device deployment, Microsoft 365 support, IT asset management, basic IT security, and network and infrastructure support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end users via the IT Service Desk and on-site.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT peripherals.
- Assist with user account administration, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID user management.
- Log, update, prioritise, and resolve IT support tickets in accordance with IT service procedures.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint end-user support.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting, including wired, wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP connectivity issues.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user devices.
- Assist with endpoint security, antivirus, MFA, and other cybersecurity initiatives.
- Support IT asset management by maintaining accurate hardware and software asset records, obtaining supplier quotations, and assisting with procurement activities.
- Assist with hardware and software installations, upgrades, and patching.
- Perform routine system health checks and basic maintenance activities.
- Escalate complex technical incidents to second- line support and/or the IT Ops manager when necessary.
- Assist with IT projects, technology rollouts, office moves, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Follow IT security policies, standards, and governance procedures.
- Deliver professional and customer-focused support.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
- IT Diploma, Degree or relevant IT certification.
- Strong passion for IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
Desirable
- Microsoft Certified
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
Technical Knowledge
- Microsoft Windows and Windows Server.
- Microsoft 365 administration (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, switching).
- PC hardware, printers, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic cybersecurity principles (MFA, phishing awareness, password security).
