About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate IT Infrastructure Engineer .
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the uptime, security and performance of the organisation's IT infrastructure. The role requires a proactive, self-managed individual who can prioritise effectively, keep Windows Server environments running efficiently, and deliver excellent, timely support to end-users — all while embodying the team's culture of positivity, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This is a full-on-site vacancy situated in Centurion.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day infrastructure work that keeps the business running securely and performing well.
- Build appropriate redundancy into platforms so uptime and security are never dependent on a single point of failure.
- Roll out patches and updates across all devices promptly and securely.
- Monitor and maintain network stability, efficiency and continuous availability.
- Own tasks from start to finish, using sound judgement to prioritise and manage time effectively.
- Take initiative beyond the core job description when the situation calls for it.
- Keep process and procedure documentation
- Keep Server infrastructure running smoothly and efficiently.
- Drive server availability up and downtime down through proactive maintenance.
- Manage server resources sensibly to avoid waste and bottlenecks.
- Put dependable backup and disaster-recovery measures in place for all servers.
- Deliver a high standard of support to end-users across the business.
- Log, track and close out support tickets within agreed response and resolution times.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Server+.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, systems administration, or a related area.
Technical Experience
- Hands-on experience with server hardware and operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows Server, blade servers, standalone servers).
- Experience setting up, configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches and firewalls.
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Veeam.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, specifically FortiGate.
- Hands-on experience with networks, including LAN, WAN, SAN and VPN (SSL/IPSEC).
- IT security experience covering FortiGate firewalls (on-premise and cloud), Endpoint Security, MFA

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across servers, networks and end-user devices.
- Excellent time management and the judgement to prioritise competing demands.
- Clear, professional communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative, empathetic approach, with a genuine willingness to help others and share knowledge.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to new technologies.
- Self-starter who takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion.
