IT ENDPOINT SECURITY ENGINEER

Introduction

As an Endpoint Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in defending the Scheme's digital environment and protecting the technology that employees rely on everyday. You'll be at the forefront of cybersecurity, securing laptops, desktops, mobile devices and servers against an ever-evolving threat landscape.

In this exciting role, you will design, implement and manage cutting-edge endpoint security solutions that safeguard sensitive information and ensure business continuity. From detecting and responding to sophisticated cyber threats such as malware, ransomware and phishing attacks, to strengthening endpoint resilience and driving security best practices, your work will have a direct impact on the organisation's security posture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Installed configured security software such as antivirus programs, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, endpoint management software, and encryption software on endpoints.

• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures governing the use of endpoints within the Scheme.

• Develop policies, standards, processes, and guidelines for ensuring the physical and electronic security of automated systems.

• Endpoint security engineers monitor endpoint activity and security logs for signs of suspicious behavior or unauthorized access. They may use security information and event management (SIEM) tools to aggregate and analyze log data from multiple endpoints.

• Investigate security breaches by established procedures and recommend required actions. Provides support and checks that corrective actions are implemented.

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans on endpoints to identify security weaknesses and prioritize remediation efforts by ensuring that operating systems, applications, and firmware on endpoints are regularly patched and updated to mitigate known vulnerabilities.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12.

• Bachelors or equivalent 3 year degree

• CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701)

• CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+),  EC Council - Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

• 5 years in an endpoint security role supporting
