CROP PRODUCTION & IRRIGATION MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced Crop Production and Irrigation Manager with a relevant degree in Agriculture and at least 5 years’ experience in crop production to oversee all aspects of crop production, irrigation and farm operations across a large-scale irrigated farming operation.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of forage crops, soil science, irrigation management and sustainable farming practices , together with proven leadership experience managing diverse teams and large-scale agricultural operations.
The role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can optimise crop yields and quality while managing resources, budgets, compliance and operational efficiency.
A valid driver’s licence is essential. Duties & Responsibilities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant degree in Agriculture
- 5 years’ + experience in crop production
- Strong knowledge of forage crops, soil science and sustainable farming practices
- Proven experience managing large-scale agricultural operations
- Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams, including section managers and foremen
- Strong knowledge of irrigation management and water resource utilisation
- Experience with agricultural compliance, audits and environmental requirements
- Strong financial and budget management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s licence – essential
