Irrigation Manager – Commercial Irrigation Solutions

Our client, a trusted leader in the chemical industry in Mauritius,  are seeking an experienced Irrigation Manager to drive the growth of their irrigation systems, solutions, and services across the agricultural, landscaping, estate, and industrial sectors. This role blends technical irrigation expertise with strong commercial acumen , focusing on client development, solution design, and achieving revenue targets. Key responsibilities include

• Generate new business and achieve sales and revenue targets.

• Sell irrigation solutions such as drip, sprinkler, overhead systems, pumps, filtration, and automation .

• Build relationships with farmers, estate managers, contractors, developers, and institutions.

• Assess customer needs and prepare irrigation designs, quotations, technical proposals, and cost estimates .

• Identify and manage tenders and large-scale projects , including negotiations and contract support.

• Monitor market trends, competitors, customer needs, and new business opportunities.

• Conduct product demonstrations, field days, workshops, and presentations .

• Manage sales forecasts, pricing, discounts, profitability, and customer payments.

• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Irrigation Engineering, or related field.

• 8–10 years’ experience in a similar commercial irrigation role.

• Strong technical knowledge of irrigation systems and equipment.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and designs.

• Experience preparing technical-commercial proposals.

• Strong negotiation and closing skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Strategic thinker with strong market awareness.

• Valid driving license and willingness to work outdoors.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
