Invoicing Clerk - Freight Forwarding

Introduction

A well-established freight forwarding and logistics company is seeking an accurate and organised Invoicing Clerk to join its accounts department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing customer invoices, checking shipment costs and supporting documents, and ensuring that files are invoiced accurately and promptly.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue invoices for air, sea and road freight shipments.

• Verify supplier costs, rates, disbursements and supporting documentation.

• Ensure all chargeable services are correctly captured and recovered.

• Identify and investigate missing costs, incorrect charges and invoicing discrepancies.

• Liaise with operations, estimates and accounts teams to resolve queries.

• Process credit notes and invoice adjustments when required.

• Maintain accurate records and ensure files are ready for financial closure.

• Assist with customer and internal invoicing queries.

• Work within agreed invoicing deadlines and month-end requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Previous invoicing or accounts experience.

• Experience within freight forwarding, clearing and forwarding, logistics or transport is strongly preferred.

• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.

• Comfortable working with high volumes and deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.

• Experience using CargoWise will be advantageous.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work accurately with limited supervision.
