Qualifications and experience required for the Investment Specialist
- Bachelor's degreein relevant subject matter i.e., investments or finance
- CFAwith any levels or all 3
- 5+ years' experience in collective investments, asset management or unit trust environments
- Experience in Unit Trust specialisation
- Proven track record in sales activities such as client relationship management or adviser engagement
- Sound knowledge of investment markets, fund positioning strategies, asset classes, risk considerations as well as adviser distribution dynamics
Key duties of the Investment Specialist
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute regional and channel-specific strategies to grow assets under management and maintain positive net flows.
- Business Development: Identify and convert new opportunities by engaging advice channels and fostering trust-based collaboration.
- Retention Initiatives: Manage redemption risk through adviser engagement, client education, and targeted retention strategies.
- Sales Support: Drive fund sales via adviser networks and client connections while strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Deepen ties with DFMs, multi-managers, financial advisers, and other decision-makers to expand market reach.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a strong sales pipeline, track progress against targets, and report on risks and opportunities.
- Positioning & Thought Leadership: Present investment capabilities effectively through compelling content and presentations to advisers and institutional stakeholders.
- Marketing Collaboration: Partner with marketing teams to create impactful sales collateral that enhances brand visibility and advocacy.
- Industry Representation: Represent the organisation at events, webinars, seminars, and forums with professionalism and credibility.
- Channel Expansion: Collaborate with internal teams to identify new channels, events, and client segments for increased brand awareness.
