A leading investment management organisation is seeking an experienced Investment Analyst to join their team in Sandton, Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a highly analytical and commercially minded investment professional with strong financial modelling, research, and investment analysis capabilities who is looking to further develop their career within a sophisticated investment environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed financial and investment analysis to support investment decisions
- Performing industry, market, and company research to identify and assess investment opportunities
- Developing and reviewing financial models, forecasts, and valuation analyses
- Assessing investment opportunities, including financial performance, risks, returns, and growth potential
- Supporting the due diligence process on prospective investments
- Preparing detailed investment papers, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders and investment committees
- Monitoring existing investments and analysing financial and operational performance
- Conducting sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess investment risks and potential returns
- Supporting transaction execution and the broader investment process from initial assessment through to completion
- Keeping up to date with market conditions, industry developments, and relevant economic trends
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, transaction advisory, investment banking, private equity, or a related field
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
- Solid understanding of financial statements and investment analysis principles
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to conduct thorough research and translate findings into clear investment insights
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills
- Commercially minded with sound business and investment judgement
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
