Inventory Data Analyst - Mining Sector

Duties & Responsibilities

Plans and manages inventory requirements for imported and long-lead-time spare parts, ensuring orders are placed sufficiently in advance to accommodate supplier and shipping lead times;

Prepares and maintains weekly buying reports to identify production shortages, SKU replenishment requirements and sales-related shortages;

Conducts daily inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and support uninterrupted production and operational requirements;

Analyses inventory movement trends and periodically update product group classifications to optimise stock levels and minimise excess, obsolete and slow-moving inventory;

Reviews and updates SKU stocking levels in collaboration with Branch Managers and relevant Heads of Department to ensure inventory is aligned with operational requirements;

Prepares and processes forward-order buying reports to support supplier planning and ensure future inventory requirements are communicated in advance;

Ensures all procurement and buying reports are accurate, complete and subject to the required checks and approvals before submission to the Procurement team;

Monitors inventory requirements and proactively identify potential supply shortages, stock risks and replenishment requirements;

Supports stock-taking activities by preparing inventory reports, reconciling results and investigating discrepancies;

Travels to assembly, fabrication and other operational locations when required to support inventory and procurement activities;

Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric/Grade 12;

Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management or a related field;

1–3 years’ experience in inventory control, reporting or supply chain analytics;

Experience in inventory replenishment and inventory data management;

Ability to analyse inventory data, identify trends and solve problems effectively.
