Internship Programme X8 For Year 2026/2027
South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) has opportunities for South African citizens qualified graduates to gain work experience within the Heritage Resources Sector. The main purpose of this Internship Programme is to facilitate skills development within SAHRA.
AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME
- To identify young, vibrant individuals who demonstrate a passion for their chosen field within the heritage sector.
- To offer graduates an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in their chosen field.
Internship Opportunities
Cape Town Head Office ( 6 Interns )
1) Human Resources Management
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management
Location: Cape Town Head Office
2) Finance Management
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/National Diploma in Finance Management
Location: Cape Town Head Office
3) Supply Chain Management
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/National Diploma in Supply Chain Management
Location: Cape Town Head Office
4) Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PM&E)
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/National Diploma in Public Management, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field
Location: Cape Town Head Office
5) Built Environment
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/National Diploma in Architectural Studies, Urban & Regional Planning, Town Planning, or related Built Environment field

6) Internal Audit
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: Degree/Diploma in Internal Auditing
Location: Cape Town Head Office
Pretoria Satellite Office: ( 2 Interns )
7) Burial Grounds & Graves Unit
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: BA in History, Heritage Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
Location: Pretoria Satellite Office
8) Heritage Protection Unit
No. of Interns: 1
Qualification Required: BA in History, Heritage Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
Location: Pretoria Satellite Office
Qualifying Criteria
- Age : Youth aged 35 and younger.
- Duration : 12 months.
- Qualification obtained from a public higher education institution: University or University of Technology.
- Qualification level : Diploma/Degree at NQF Level 6–10.
Package & Remuneration
- Stipend: R5,000 per month.

- Certified copy of South African ID, certified within the last 3 months.
- Certified copies of qualifications.
- SARS tax compliance or tax registration confirmation letter.
- Proof of banking details, such as a bank statement or bank confirmation letter.
