- The Junior Revenue Analyst provides essential analytical and administrative support to the Revenue Management team in collecting, validating, and reporting revenue performance data across Television, Radio and Digital platforms.
- The role ensures accuracy and integrity of revenue data, assists in the preparation of reports, and supports the analysis of yield, discount, trade model efficiency, and inventory utilisation. Working under guidance from the Revenue Analyst and Senior Pricing Analyst, the incumbent contributes to the accurate tracking of sales performance, discount trends, sell-out ratios, and inventory recovery opportunities.
- This entry-level role serves as a foundation for developing professional capability in revenue analytics, data modelling, and yield optimisation. It is key to ensuring that SABC's revenue data ecosystem is reliable, well-maintained, and able to support informed commercial decisions.
Key Accountabilities
- Collect and collate daily and weekly sales, inventory and revenue data from internal systems.
- Validate data accuracy and flag inconsistencies, gaps or anomalies.
- Support the preparation of yield, sell-out and discount utilisation reports.
- Maintain accurate databases and spreadsheets for revenue tracking.
- Assist with data uploads into BI dashboards and reporting systems.
- Perform reconciliations between pricing, sales and revenue datasets.
- Compile revenue summaries for internal use under supervision.
- Support month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles.
- Ensure proper version control and documentation for all reports.
- Contribute to the accuracy of inputs for forecasting and modelling.
- Provide administrative assistance in report scheduling and dissemination.
- Maintain repository of historical sales and revenue data.
- Work closely with the Revenue Analyst to update dashboard datasets.
- Ensure data is stored securely and handled in compliance with governance policies.
- Assist in preparing revenue, yield, and trade model performance reports.
- Extract and organise data needed for yield and discount utilisation analysis.
- Support tracking of sell-outs, utilisation and discount levels by platform.
- Prepare charts and summaries of revenue performance trends.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of trade model efficiency and rate realisation.
- Identify and list areas of underperformance in yield or utilisation.
- Support modelling and forecasting exercises by providing data inputs.
- Assist in producing variance and performance summaries for management packs.
- Contribute to analysis of unsold inventory trends and disposal opportunities.
- Support post-campaign revenue reviews.
- Verify that reported yield metrics align with approved pricing data.
- Ensure completeness of data used in yield and forecast models.
- Provide support during pricing and revenue review sessions.
- Document analytical findings and methodologies under supervision.
- Maintain structured data archives for trend analysis.
- Assist with tracking of trade model usage, discount application and client deal compliance.
- Support daily monitoring of inventory utilisation and sell-out patterns.
- Help compile reports on unsold or underutilised inventory.
- Record discount levels and variance from approved thresholds.
- Assist in analysis of promotional and barter performance outcomes.
- Maintain an updated register of discount and trade commitments.
- Contribute to basic modelling of discount and utilisation trends.
- Support the tracking of yield improvements from discount or trade model changes.
- Ensure trade model data is up to date in relevant systems.
- Prepare summary dashboards on inventory and trade activity under guidance.
- Adhere to PFMA, Treasury and SABC governance protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of all revenue and client data.
- Support preparation of audit packs and data verification.
- Ensure reports and data sources meet internal audit requirements.
- Assist with risk documentation and corrective action follow-up.
- Maintain version control and documentation of all models and reports.
- Participate in compliance training and team workshops.
- Escalate any potential non-compliance issues to supervisor.
Requirements
- NQF Level 6 or above; and/or Bachelor's Degree in economics, Statistics, Finance, Business Analytics or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Data Analytics, Revenue or Yield Management advantageous.
- Proven ability to conduct complex modelling and scenario analysis.
- Exposure to pricing, trading or sales operations in media, telecoms or advertising.
- Experience in BI tools, revenue dashboards and forecasting systems.
- Track record of generating actionable insights that improved yield or efficiency
