Required Qualifications BCom Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Commerce, or Business/Operations Management preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in general logistics and supply chain management. 8–10 years of specialized experience within clearing agencies, international logistics, freight forwarding, or trade compliance. 2+ years in a dedicated managerial or leadership capacity. Professional certifications would be preferred, such as: CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) APICS / ASCM Certifications CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) FIATA Freight Forwarding Certifications Customs and International Trade Compliance Certifications Detail: Technical Competencies & Experience: Global Trade Execution: Proven track record in overseeing end-to-end import/export processes across complex international supply chains. Freight Management: Proficient in orchestrating multimodal shipping solutions via air, sea, and road freight. Regulatory & Customs Liaison: Deep experience collaborating with SARS Customs and key industry stakeholders; prior appointment as an AEO clearance representative is highly advantageous. Financial & Trade Compliance: Advanced knowledge of tariff classifications, customs valuations, duty management, and cross-border compliance. Commercial Negotiation: Skilled in contract negotiation and service-level management of external clearing and transport providers. ERP Proficiency: Experienced in utilizing enterprise resource planning systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Sector Expertise: Background operating within fast-paced agricultural, chemical, FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution environments. Leadership & Talent Development: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams while establishing clear frameworks for accountability. Strategic & Financial Acumen: Robust business acumen focused on driving cost optimization, mitigating corporate risk, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Operations & Project Execution: Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities, with a tracked record of managing competing priorities and delivering results under tight deadlines.
