Start free — we apply for you →- We are seeking an enthusiastic and intermediately experienced Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer to join our team at our office in Cape Town. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing a complex application consisting of multiple components and any other Laravel related applications to be developed in the future.
- As a Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain the functionality of applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security across all components. The ideal candidate should be passionate about working with a diverse tech stack and have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and Redis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve multiple components of an existing and new applications, including device-level software, REST API, database, and front-end portal.
- Work with a tech stack that includes PHP Laravel 13 Framework, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Redis and AWS technologies.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code for both front-end and back-end development.
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability are top priorities.
- Collaborate with the development and customer service teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.
- Manage and optimize MySQL databases hosted on AWS Aurora, ensuring optimal performance and query efficiency.
- Creating background services and queues that interacts with Redis queues.
- Maintain REST API endpoints, integrating them with various front-end and back-end components.
- Work with AWS EC2 for deploying and managing cloud-based services and infrastructures.
- Use Laravel's Broadcasting features to implement real-time communication between various parts of the application and third-party APIs.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing codebase.
- Continuously stay up-to-date with Laravel Framework best practices.
