Durban-based software company with many years experience developing and maintaining a world-class, fully integrated ERP platform serving wholesale, distribution, retail, and manufacturing markets, is currently undertaking a comprehensive rewrite of their ERP system - moving to a modern, cloud-aligned technology stack built on Java Spring Boot, React, and PostgreSQL.

Exposure to/ or curiosity about legacy ERP environments is an advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
A capable, independent developer who can own features from design through to deployment. The Intermediate Developer follows SDLC processes, contributes to architectural discussions, supports junior team members, and plays a central role in the ERP rewrite delivery team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain full stack features and enhancements independently
- Participate in architectural decisions and sprint planning
- Write optimised SQL queries and well-structured REST APIs
- Perform peer code reviews and provide support to junior developers
- Ensure code quality through unit testing and clear documentation
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline maintenance and deployment processes
- Collaborate with QA and product teams across the full development lifecycle
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Java Spring Boot - production-level backend development
- React - component-driven frontend development
- PostgreSQL - query writing, basic optimisation
- REST API design and integration
- Git - branching strategies (e.g. GitFlow)
- Docker - containerisation fundamentals
- Unit testing: JUnit / Jest / React Testing Library
- Linux CLI - comfortable in server environments
Required
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- 2–4 years of professional full stack development experience
- Demonstrable ability to deliver production-ready features independently
- Hands-on experience with relational databases - PostgreSQL preferred
Preferred / Nice to Have
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- OpenAPI / Swagger familiarity
- Experience with ERP, accounting, or business systems
- React Native or PWA development experience
- Relevant technical certifications
