The client operates a mission-critical ISP Provisioning Platform supporting large-scale customer and service provisioning processes. System availability, performance, and reliability are essential to their platform operations.
The Role: Intermediate Backend Developer (Java Microservices)
This role exists to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices within an Agile development environment. The position contributes to the business by delivering robust, high-performance software solutions for a mission-critical ISP Provisioning Platform. The main focus areas include developing RESTful APIs aligned with Open API standards, integrating with internal and third-party systems, managing database interactions, and contributing to cloud-native application delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Hold 3-5 years of software development experience and 3+ years of Java backend development experience.
Design and implement RESTful APIs aligned with Open API standards.
Build scalable and secure backend services using Spring Boot.
Integrate with internal and third-party systems and APIs.
Develop and maintain database interactions across SQL and NoSQL data stores.
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and solution architecture activities.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and integration issues.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Desired Experience & Qualification
About You
3-5 years of software development experience and 3+ years of Java backend development experience.
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience developing and maintaining API-driven and microservices-based applications.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
Essential technical skills in Java 17, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Web, Spring Data JPA (Hibernate), REST APIs, SQL databases such as MariaDB or similar, Maven, Git, and JSON/XML.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and collaboration abilities, attention to detail, ability to work independently and within a team, ability to work in a high-availability mission-critical environment, willingness to learn and adopt new technologies, and a strong ownership and accountability mindset.
Advantageous experience with Apache Kafka, Redis, MariaDB ColumnStore or other NoSQL technologies, Spring Security (OAuth2 / JWT), Keycloak, Flyway, JBPM, Drools, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, and Unit and Integration Testing using JUnit or Mockito.
