Interim Relief Worker: Financial Control - DRC

PURPOSE This role exists to provide interim / temporary relief in the Finance Department while the Financial Controller is on indefinite sick leave. The role must ensure site costing (actual, budget and forecast) is produced timeously and accurately and is responsible for the review of the quality control of information entering the finance and related systems. The role creates a vital link between Finance and Operations. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting Prepare accurate monthly reports. Report on day-to-day cost management. Governance Ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Budget and Forecast Assist with the monthly forecast calculations. Transactional Financial Management Assist in completing accurate accounting records. Review cost allocation of purchase requests. Prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to. Provide quality accounting support and technical advice. Monitor revenue and costs vs budget. Assist management with overtime costing. Compile and implement corrective action plans to rectify negative trends. Analyse and identify the variance amongst budget, forecast and actuals. Ensure good management of company assets. Ensure all system inputs and requisitions generated are captured and allocated correctly. Assist with bank reconciliations and reconciliations for VAT. Assist with completing VAT returns as and when required.
