Start free — we apply for you →Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to lead and maintain a critical enterprise IT infrastructure environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to a professional with deep expertise across servers, virtualization, storage, networking, security, and disaster recovery. The successful candidate will combine strong technical capability with the ability to lead a small technical team, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the performance, reliability, and security of the organisation's infrastructure. This position is ideal for an infrastructure professional who enjoys remaining technically involved while contributing to strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain enterprise server environments, including virtualization and hypervisor platforms.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across infrastructure services.
- Own and manage SAN and enterprise storage environments, including capacity planning, replication strategies, and performance optimisation.
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and multi-ISP connectivity solutions.
- Ensure infrastructure environments remain secure, scalable, and aligned to business requirements.
Security & Disaster Recovery
- Manage firewall environments, including security policy administration, SSL inspection, and threat mitigation.
- Own and continuously improve backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct regular recovery testing and implement ransomware-resilient backup solutions.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Zero Trust and enterprise security frameworks.
Leadership & Vendor Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a technical infrastructure team.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and establish operational best practices.
- Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors and service providers.
- Oversee infrastructure-related contracts, licensing, and budgets.
- Ensure all infrastructure changes follow appropriate change management and risk assessment procedures.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and incident reports for senior leadership.
- Monitor infrastructure trends and recommend improvements to support business growth and operational resilience.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with organisational standards and governance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience within enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrable technical expertise across most of the following areas:
