Infrastructure Engineer (Senior) - Linux | Automation | Cloud

Introduction

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a global technology environment responsible for delivering secure, resilient, and highly available Linux platforms supporting critical enterprise production systems.

This role is ideal for an infrastructure professional with extensive Linux administration, automation, cloud, and platform engineering experience who enjoys working in a modern DevOps and Agile environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure Linux client platforms for enterprise office and production environments.

• Develop and maintain Linux base images, software packages and platform standards.

• Implement automation solutions using Ansible and scripting technologies.

• Administer Linux environments across physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures.

• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of critical services.

• Perform vulnerability remediation, hardening and security compliance activities.

• Manage Linux patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.

• Support Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.

• Develop Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions.

• Maintain Git repositories and GitOps workflows.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security and application teams.

• Produce technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge articles.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, operational meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide standby support and participate in scheduled maintenance when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 7 years' experience in IT Operations.

• Minimum 7 years' experience in configuration management and infrastructure automation.

• Proven experience supporting enterprise Linux environments.

• Experience working within DevOps and Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Linux Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE/SLES)

• Bash, Python and/or Perl scripting

• GitHub and GitOps
