Infrastructure Engineer | Linux | Automation | Cloud

Introduction

Are you a Linux expert with a passion for automation, cloud technologies, and building secure, highly available enterprise platforms?

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (Advanced) to join a dynamic global technology team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong expertise in Linux engineering, Ansible automation, scripting, GitOps, and cloud infrastructure .

Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Hybrid

Contract: October 2026 – December 2029

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure Linux platforms

• Automate deployments and operational processes

• Manage system performance, patching, security, and compliance

• Support cloud, virtual, and on-premises environments

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues

• Collaborate with global teams in an Agile environment

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 5+ years' experience in Linux Engineering / IT Operations

• Advanced Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)

• Deep hands-on experience with Ansible Automation & Ansible Tower

• Strong scripting skills ( Bash, Python, Perl )

• GitHub & GitOps experience

• AWS and/or Azure cloud experience

• Infrastructure automation, configuration management, and security hardening

• Strong networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, SSH, TCP/IP)

Advantageous Skills

• Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Podman

• VMware and Private Cloud technologies

• Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk

• ServiceNow and ITIL processes

• Red Hat Satellite

• RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, SUSE, or Ansible certifications

• High Availability solutions
