Infrastructure Administrator

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Manage and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal uptime.

Network Administration

• Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN solutions.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
• Ensure secure and reliable remote access for users.

Cloud & Hybrid Environments

• Support and administer cloud-based infrastructure.
• Manage hybrid cloud environments and integrations.
• Monitor cloud performance, resource utilization, and cost optimization initiatives.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls.
• Manage user access, permissions, and identity management solutions.
• Perform system patching, updates, antivirus management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and industry best practices.

Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity

• Manage backup solutions and data recovery processes.
• Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure infrastructure readiness to support business continuity objectives.

Monitoring & Support

• Monitor system health, infrastructure alerts, and logs.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation.
• Create and update standard operating procedures.
• Produce performance, availability, and capacity reports.

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 3 years' experience in IT Infrastructure Administration.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of IT security principles, policies, and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Advantageous

• Industry certifications such as:
• Microsoft Certified (MCSA, MCSE or equivalent)
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+
• Cisco CCNA
