Import Clerk And Financial Controller

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in imports and logistics administration
• Previous experience dealing with freight forwarders and clearing agents
• Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working on an accounting package (Pastel advantageous)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Valid driver's licence

DUTIES

• Coordinate the end-to-end import process from purchase order to final delivery
• Liaise with international suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and other stakeholders to ensure timely shipment of goods
• Monitor shipments and resolve any delays or import-related issues
• Prepare, verify, and maintain all import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Calculate landed costs, product costing, and customer pricing with a high level of accuracy
• Verify supplier invoices, reconcile import-related costs, and process supplier payments.
• Maintain accurate import costing records and financial documentation
• Ensure compliance with South African customs legislation, NRCS requirements, and company import policies
• Coordinate marine insurance for shipments and manage insurance claims when required
• Maintain import tracking schedules, filing systems, and import procedures
• Prepare reports and provide general administrative support to the business
• Communicate shipment updates, supplier pricing, and new product information to internal stakeholders
• Capture supplier invoices in Pastel Accounting, assist with reconciliations, and support the finance department with administrative and accounting tasks
