ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity is available for a qualified Turner Machinist with strong manufacturing experience to operate conventional machining equipment and manufacture or repair hydraulic components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate universal horizontal lathes, vertical lathes and horizontal boring mills according to drawings and job cards.
- Machine hydraulic components to the required specifications.
- Coordinate and manage cylinder job cards.
- Assist with dismantling equipment and assessing repairs for quotation purposes.
- Perform deburring, grinding, rethreading, re-tapping and component reclamation.
- Sharpen repetition drills using machinery.
- Carry out sanding and blasting activities as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric), N4 or equivalent.
- Qualified artisan with a relevant trade test.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating conventional lathes and horizontal boring mills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Experience machining hydraulic components to specified dimensions.
