Key Responsibilities
Policy Development and Enforcement
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring alignment with company objectives and current labour legislation.
- Drafting and sending out of notices and memorandums to site.
- Compiling and maintaining site safety files.
Industrial Relations
- Provide advice and strategic guidance to management on labour laws, disciplinary procedures, and best practices in employee relations.
- Lead or support investigations into employee misconduct and take appropriate disciplinary action in line with company policies and labour laws.
- Draft and issue formal IR documents such as notices to attend disciplinary hearings, warnings, grievance outcomes, and other relevant correspondence.
- Chairing of disciplinary hearings and issuing of outcomes.
- Preparing for and attending CCMA and NBCPSS matters, managing labour disputes, and ensuring fair and compliant resolution of IR issues.
Retrenchments and Short Time
- Facilitate retrenchment consultations and manage short-time implementation procedures in compliance with the Labour Relations Act.
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage and coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, offer letters, and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensuring that new recruits are booked for medicals as and when required.
External Compliance Queries
- Address and respond to queries or audits from external bodies including the Labour Department, bargaining council and PSIRA.
- Attend to queries from the UIF and provident fund.
Employee Communication and Engagement
- Conduct employee meetings, consultations, and briefings as required, and maintain consistent, formal communication with sites, reaction officers and the control room via memos and notices.
Employee Support and Query Resolution
- Handle and resolve employee queries received via telephone or email, ensuring timeous responses.
- Handing employee grievances.
Record Keeping and Filing
- Maintain and update all HR records, employee files, and case documentation.
Labour Inspections and Compliance
- Prepare for and manage Labour Department and Bargaining Council inspections, ensuring full regulatory compliance across all HR and IR functions.
General HR Admin and Support
- Provide administrative support for HR-related projects and handle day-to-day ad hoc tasks as assigned.
- Managing of stationery and uniform stock levels.
Control Room and Site Covering
- Ensuring sites are covered at the change of every shift.
- Ensure that relievers are arranged from reaction and control room in the event of shortages
Client Communication
- Monitoring of client groups and responding to queries and concerns.
Union Relations and Management
- Monitoring and managing union activities in line with company policies and legal requirements
- Attending to union queries and correspondence

Desired Experience & Qualification
- SECURITY INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE MANDATORY. If you do not have this experience, please do not apply.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, with strong exposure to Industrial Relations.
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, or related field advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of South African Labour Laws.
- Experience with CCMA representations, union engagement, and regulatory inspections.
- Must have experience in a unionised environment.
