HR & Internal Compliance Clerk

Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Manage employee files, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, leave, training, probation, and review records.
• Coordinate recruitment administration, interviews, induction, and compliance training.
• Maintain policy, incident, gift, conflict of interest, and training registers.
• Support internal audits, compliance reviews, risk tracking, and corrective actions.
• Assist with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, labour law, TCF, governance, and document-retention requirements.
• Track representative DOFA dates, handle Ombud administration, prepare reports, take minutes, and follow up on actions.

Requirements

• At least two years' HR administration experience and two years' general administration experience.
• Knowledge of South African labour law, HR processes, internal controls, policy management, and document control.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, plus Word, Outlook, Teams, electronic filing, reporting, and data capture.
• Financial services, insurance, medical schemes, audits, risk, or regulated-environment experience is advantageous.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English

Education

• Grade 12 is essential.
• A diploma or degree in HR, Business Administration, Labour Relations, Compliance, Risk, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.

Soft Skills

• Strong planning, communication, judgement, initiative, and deadline management.

Salary

• The proposed salary for the role is R15k - R18k per month - the final offer will depend on qualifications, experience and skills.
