Purpose

To provide end-to-end HR support within an FMCG manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and driving recruitment, employee relations, skills development, Employment Equity (EE), and BBBEE initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection

  • Coordinate the full recruitment and selection process.
  • Prepare job descriptions and advertise vacancies.
  • Screen applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate assessments.
  • Conduct reference, qualification, and criminal verification checks.
  • Manage onboarding and induction of new employees.

Employee Relations

  • Provide advice on labour legislation and company policies.
  • Assist with disciplinary hearings, grievances, counselling, and incapacity processes.
  • Build positive employee relations and maintain a healthy working environment.
  • Liaise with union representatives where applicable.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate probation reviews and annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor employee performance improvement plans.
  • Support managers in implementing performance management processes.

Skills Development

  • Coordinate the company's Skills Development initiatives.
  • Compile and submit the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR).
  • Liaise with SETAs and training providers.
  • Coordinate learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, and graduate programmes.
  • Maintain accurate training records and monitor training budgets.
  • Facilitate mandatory compliance training.

Employment Equity (EE)

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Employment Equity Plan.
  • Prepare Employment Equity reports and submissions.
  • Monitor EE targets and workforce demographics.
  • Support the Employment Equity Committee and ensure legislative compliance.

BBBEE

  • Coordinate BBBEE initiatives relating to the Human Resources function.
  • Manage Skills Development and Employment Equity elements of the BBBEE Scorecard.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for BBBEE verification.
  • Liaise with BBBEE verification agencies and internal stakeholders.

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR reports.
  • Process employee changes including promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, and terminations.
  • Monitor leave, absenteeism, and employee movements.
  • Ensure personnel files are compliant for audits.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' HR Generalist experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment .
  • Proven experience in Skills Development, Employment Equity (EE), and BBBEE .
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
