- The HR Consultant serves as the designated point of contact for all allocated retainer and ad hoc clients, taking overall ownership of service delivery across their portfolio. The Consultant coordinates and communicates relevant client requirements to Advius' internal Recruitment, Payroll, Industrial Relations, and Compliance departments where specialised services are required, while remaining responsible for the delivery of general HR services and deliverables. The Consultant further ensures that all advice, recommendations, communication, and deliverables provided to clients are consistent with applicable South African labour legislation and HR best practice.
Responsibilities Include Advisory and HR Service Delivery
- Support an initial HR audit on each newly allocated client and thereafter at agreed intervals.
- Draft HR documentation templates required for implementation at each client.
- Assist clients with the implementation of employment contracts, policies, procedures and HR documentation.
- Provide accurate and practical HR advice within mandate and authority limits.
- Deliver general HR services and deliverables for the allocated portfolio.
- Remain current with developments in South African labour legislation and communicate changes to clients.
Client Liaison and Relationship Management
- Act as the designated point of contact for allocated retainer and ad hoc clients.
- Establish and communicate service delivery expectations and turnaround standards.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of each client's operations and workforce profile.
- Acknowledge all client queries within 24 hours.
- Conduct client site visits and maintain detailed records.
- Manage client expectations regarding scope, turnaround times and costs.
- Escalate client concerns, service risks and relationship issues to the Director.
Coordination of Internal Departments
- Coordinate service delivery between clients and Advius specialist departments.
- Submit payroll instructions timeously and accurately.
- Coordinate industrial relations matters and legal processes.
- Facilitate communication, scheduling and document flow between departments.
- Ensure statutory submissions and compliance deliverables are completed on time.
- Review documentation for completeness, compliance and accuracy.
- Track and report on all open matters through to closure.
- Escalate resource constraints and missed deadlines to management.
Administration, Records and Reporting
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Record client instructions, advice and decisions.
- Compile weekly client and management reports.
- Record billable time and out-of-scope work.
- Ensure compliance with POPIA and confidentiality requirements.
- Submit all internal and external reports within required deadlines.
Requirements Key Requirements Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or related field.
- Registration with SABPP will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist or HR Consulting role.
- Experience supporting multiple clients or business units simultaneously.
- Practical experience in drafting and implementing HR policies, procedures, disciplinary processes and employment contracts.
- Exposure to payroll administration processes and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience working with South African labour legislation and employment practices.
