Introduction

Peninsula Drums (Philippi Industria, Cape Town)  is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented HR, Marketing & Administrative Clerk to support daily operations across multiple departments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient administrative processes, supporting HR functions, and assisting with basic marketing activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources Administration

Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases

Assist with recruitment administration (job postings, interview scheduling, correspondence)

Support onboarding and employee documentation processes

Capture and monitor attendance, leave, and timesheets

Payroll administration

Assist with HR reporting and compliance documentation

Disciplinary Procedure Administration

Support and administer disciplinary processes in line with company policy and labour legislation

Prepare disciplinary notices, warnings, and hearing documentation

Coordinate disciplinary hearings, including scheduling and minute-taking

Maintain accurate records of all disciplinary actions and outcomes

Liaise with management to ensure consistent and fair application of disciplinary procedures

Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant labour laws

Important Note: This role operates within a factory/manufacturing environment, which can be fast-paced and demanding. The successful candidate must be confident, vocal, and resolute, with the ability to communicate clearly, enforce processes, and engage effectively with employees across all levels, particularly in situations involving discipline and compliance.

Training & Development Coordination

Coordinate employee training schedules and bookings

Maintain training records, registers, and skills matrices

Assist with the implementation of workplace skills plans (WSP) and annual training reports (ATR)

Liaise with training providers and internal departments

Track training attendance, feedback, and certification

Support compliance with SETA and other regulatory training requirements

Marketing Support

Assist in preparing marketing materials and company documents

Maintain and update company social media platforms and website content

Ensure consistency in branding across all materials

General Administration

Perform data capturing, filing, and document control

Assist with sales administration

Assist with BBBEE information gathering

Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes if required

Maintain office supplies and support day-to-day office operations

Report compilation and management and required

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric); a Diploma in HR, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is advantageous

1–2 years’ administrative experience (manufacturing environment advantageous)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Proficiency in Sage/Pastel Accounting Package

Basic knowledge of HR processes and marketing principles

Strong communication and organizational skills
