About the role The HR Intern will support recruitment coordination, human resource administration, workforce management, employer branding, and stakeholder engagement within a structured people management environment. The role provides practical, hands-on exposure to talent acquisition, HR operations, employee lifecycle administration, reporting, and compliance while developing the knowledge and skills required to build a successful career in Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support

• Assist with advertising vacancies across approved recruitment platforms. • Source candidates using recruitment databases, job portals, LinkedIn, and other sourcing channels. • Conduct initial CV screening against role requirements. • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers. • Prepare interview packs and maintain recruitment documentation. • Maintain accurate candidate records within internal recruitment systems. • Assist with candidate onboarding administration and pre-employment documentation. • Ensure timely communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle Support

• Assist with preparing employment contracts, HR letters, and employee documentation. • Maintain accurate electronic and physical employee files. • Support onboarding and induction activities for new employees and contractors. • Assist with leave administration, HR record updates, and employee documentation. • Maintain confidentiality of employee information at all times. • Support general HR administration and departmental activities. Employer Branding & Talent Attraction

• Assist with creating and publishing engaging job advertisements. • Support employer branding initiatives across recruitment and social media platforms. • Assist with career exhibitions, university engagements, graduate recruitment programmes, and networking events. • Support recruitment marketing campaigns and talent attraction initiatives. • Promote a professional employer brand throughout all candidate interactions. HR Reporting & Recruitment Administration

• Maintain recruitment trackers and HR administrative records. • Prepare weekly and monthly recruitment reports. • Update recruitment activity dashboards and candidate pipelines. • Ensure HR records remain accurate, current, and audit-ready. • Assist with compiling HR metrics and management reports. Compliance & Governance Support

• Assist with ensuring recruitment and HR documentation complies with company policies and legislative requirements. • Maintain compliance trackers for employee documentation and onboarding requirements. • Support HR audits by preparing required documentation. • Track completion of mandatory employee documentation. • Escalate missing or incomplete documentation where necessary. Stakeholder & Candidate Support

• Respond professionally to candidate and employee enquiries. • Build positive relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process. • Support communication with universities, training providers, and external stakeholders. • Assist internal teams with HR-related administrative requests. • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Operational & Administrative Support

• Assist with meeting coordination, minute-taking, and action tracking. • Maintain organised filing systems for HR documentation. • Support continuous improvement of HR templates, trackers, and administrative processes. • Assist with special HR projects as required. • Provide administrative support across the Human Resources function. Reporting Submission

• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly recruitment reports, HR trackers, onboarding updates, and administrative reports to relevant stakeholders as required. • Ensure all reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within agreed deadlines. Minimum Requirements

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. • Must not have participated on the YES programme before. • Matric. • Completed a qualification in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Labour Relations, Organisational Psychology, or a related qualification.
